Characteristics:
- They have a bilateral symmetry
- Nematodes are very tiny roundworms that are often parasitic in nature, meaning that they live off of other living organisms

- Their bodies are also non-segmented, unlike earthworms and has no circulatory system (no blood system)
Other types of Nematodes:
- One type is known as the hookworm, which has a hooklike mouthpart that attaches itself to the wall of the gut, puncturing the blood vessels and feeding on the blood
- Another type is the C. Elegan, which is a free-living, transparent nematode, about 1 mm in length, that lives in temperate soil environments
- The "C" stands for Caenorhabditis
- The Pinworm is a common intestinal parasite that is found in humans
