MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey - November 10, 2021
To make sure we give the best possible education and services to children in Medway, we want to learn about their attitudes and behaviors with regard to a variety of health issues. In order to accomplish this, students attending Medway Middle School in grades 6-8 are being asked to participate in a survey called the MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey on November 10, 2021. Communication about this survey was emailed separately through School Messenger and can be found here.
Tier II Social Emotional Learning Groups
This year, one of our goals at Medway Middle School is to continue to proactively support Social Emotional Learning (SEL). One of the ways we are engaging in this work this year is by offering small group SEL sessions. Groups will provide students with an opportunity to directly learn and then practice specific social/emotional skills. Groups will meet weekly for thirty minutes over the course of six weeks. Advantages of small groups include: making friends, finding similarities with others, developing strategies, and developing Social-Emotional skills.
Groups were developed based on the Panorama screener which was referenced in the school’s September Newsletter, along with teacher and guidance counselor recommendations. The goal of these groups is to develop a toolbox of coping strategies with the outcome of increasing our students' ability to manage stress and improving students’ attitudes about themselves, others, and school.
Mrs. Haddad, one of our School Adjustment Counselors will be facilitating these groups. Groups will be flexible and continue throughout the school year. The week before a new group starts, she will communicate with families of students who are selected.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Haddad at khaddad@medwayschools.org or by calling the school office.
Student Arrival
Over the last two weeks, we have noticed that an increasing number of students are arriving to school after the start of the first block. As a reminder, students are expected to be in their homeroom seats at 7:35am. Arrival after that time will result in students missing instruction. If you are driving your child to school, please be sure they arrive to school prior to 7:35am so that they have time to stop in their locker and prepare for the day. Your anticipated support is appreciated.

Important: PLEASE COMPLETE- Parent Portal Information
The Parent Portal within Infinite Campus, our student management system, is a vital resource to help families stay up to date on students’ assignments, grades, and contact information. If you are a family that does not have an account, please email parent@medwayschools.org and we will forward a personal activation code to create one. ALL families are asked to please complete the Online Registration [OLR] option, better known as the “beginning of year packet,” within the parent portal system. This process allows parents to see the information we have on file and make updates if needed. We also require review and sign-off of our Responsible Use Policy and Handbook as part of this process. If you haven't already, please complete this process by selecting MORE (on the left menu) then Online Registration from the menu options.
