The Library Is Open for Business
We have welcomed all students to the library through orientation in Language Arts classes. In these orientations students participated in a scavenger hunt, checked out a book, and practiced sending a school email. Students who are in Reading are also currently visiting the library to learn more about library organization, including genres and Dewey Decimal System.
Extended Hours First Semester
The library will be open until 5:15 about once a week courtesy of a Sherwood Foundation grant. The dates for first semester will be September 15, 22; October 6, 15, 20, 27; November 3, 12, 17, 24; December 1, 10, 17. These dates are subject to change so keep an eye on the sign outside the library door for more information.

Coming This Year
All students will complete newly developed Inquiry Projects in Social Studies & Language Arts this year. 7th graders will come in during 2nd quarter and 8th graders will come in during 4th quarter. We will work on narrowing topics, evaluating sources, taking notes, citing sources, and sharing findings with teachers and peers.
