Message from the Principal-
Great job this week navigating the car pick up and drop off line. Please remember we double stack through the entire parking lot except for 1) the corners (please merge) and 2) the drop off in front of the gym (merge as you reach that point). Please make sure any member of your family who may be picking up or dropping off knows the pattern of "snaking" through the lot and double stacking. Cones are there to guide us all! We want to be safe and the first time car riders can be easily spotted if someone has explained to them how it works! :-) Please have your child ready to exit the car on the LEFT SIDE with the backpack on and mask ready to go as well!
Students are navigating the new routines very well. Students are doing well getting on and off the bus. We exit the entire building in smaller groups and we are actually making great time! Please have students ready with their mask on when boarding the bus in the morning. Thank you for your patience at home.
Your children are getting excited for the new playground that is being installed. We had delays due to Covid, playground layout and broken down construction equipment. However, our PTO liaison persevered and the playground is going in and we hope to have children playing on it next week! Thank you to our GES Community and the organization and funding from the PTO for our new installment!
Your children have done wonderful in the cafe and at recess. It is wonderful to hear their voices, giggles and stories! Thank you for sharing your children with us!
Thank you,
Christi Thomas, Principal

Dropping off or picking up an item for your student
- Label all items clearly with the student's and teacher's name;
- Leave them on the table in the vestibule;
- Ring the bell at the office door or call the office to let us know you've left the item.
We will pick up the items and get them to the correct person/place.
Similarly, if you have been directed to pick up an item from school please check the table in the vestibule.
Please help your students remember to gather everything they need for school before they leave home, and to bring the right materials home as well.

Virtual Student Material Pickup Day
Tuesday, September 15th, 2020
8-9AM & 11-1PM
Hi Geist Gators!
Virtual students, we have additional materials to provide you for continued virtual instruction. Families may come to the school between 8-9am or 11-1pm on Tuesday, September 15th. Please visit during the designated times as we don't want to interfere with morning drop off.
During the additional pickup day, families will drive to main entrance to pick up the following items:
Consumables (supplemental materials for the content areas)
Textbooks
Grade level/Related Arts/Teacher Materials
Please stay in your vehicle and pull to the main entrance. We will approach your vehicle and confirm your student's name and teacher. All items/bags will be labeled with your student's name.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Student iPads
In the event a child forgets to charge their iPad, please send the student's iPad charger in their backpack so the iPad can be used and charged during the school day. In the event a child forgets their iPad at home, the teacher may ask the student to call and see if it is possible to have the iPad brought to the school front office.
