James and Dre have been cleaning up the playground everyday after lunch. Their efforts have helped to ensure the equipment is protected in shade and does not rot in the sun. Thank you boys for volunteering your time and keep up the good work!!

Fifth grader Legend McDaid created a work of art after reading about Aboriginal cave paintings. She was inspired to paint her own handprint art that Mrs. Rowan will proudly display in her classroom. What an artist!

Mrs. Lockets Lighthouses

Students in Ms. Lockett’s 2nd grade used Feelings Cards during their class morning meeting to identify and discuss common human emotions. The goal in learning to recognize emotions is for the students to understand their own feelings as well as the feelings of others.

Ms. Huston’s 4th grade class celebrated Dot Day on September 15th!

The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.

Mr. Savage's Gifted sixth grade

The class had just finished up ancient civilization and the effects of agriculture. After class one day Zach and Maddox came up to Mr. Savage and decided to tell him that they were working on a Hybrid project for Mrs. Kinderknecht's Hatchet Project, and Mr. Savage's irrigation unit. He asked them what it was...and they told him it was a secret, and that he would see soon enough.

Here is their simulated stranded/survival station, complete with irrigation canals. They narrated the whole video. It is amazing!!!

We are so thankful to work with such an amazing group of people and this is our way of saying THANK YOU! There was an hourly raffle of “Happy Fall Ya’ll Gift Cards” announced throughout the day, delicious snacks and treats in the office, AND a pumpkin hunt that was ongoing all day long. Great Job with the New Entry on the West Side!

WHO: ALL K-2 Parents who drop off in the morning. Kinder parents will still drop off by the kinder gate as usual.

WHAT: Students will now enter through the large gate closer to the office instead of the smaller gate at the playground.

WHERE: On the K-2 (West) side of the school.

WHEN: Starting Monday, August 30th.

WHY: This will help drop off go smoother.

HOW: We will communicate this multiple times before Monday. There will be large signs reminding parents to keep pulling forward. Be on the lookout!

Celebrating The Color WHITE For our Kindergarteners

Every Friday, during the first quarter, our entire student body and staff help our youngest learners visualize the color words they are learning. This week it was the color white! It is so fun to see all of the colors on campus.
