Solving Algebraic Expressions
Rates and Ratios
Constant Rates
A variable is a letter or a symbol (such as x, n, or h) that represents a number. An algebraic expression is a combination of one or more variables that may include numbers and operation signs.
Examples of algebraic expressions:
5 x t + 7 n - 2 3 + z + 5y
Learning Goal: I will be able to model real-life relationships involving constant rates (e.g., speed, heart rate, billing rate), using algebraic equations with variables to represent the changing quantities in the relationship
