Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall Passes DP!

Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall

6th Grade Scientists!

Our DP 6th Grade Scientists engineered their own energy contraptions. The objective was to create a machine that displayed energy transformations, used simple machines, and performed an end task. The students had 3 time trial races to observe whose machine kept motion going the longest! The engineers listed step by step how their device was built. Then the students drew a blueprint of their devices.

Some of the end tasks created by the students were to pop a balloon, bowl the dominoes down, and pour milk into the cereal. The students now could understand energy conversions.

Congratulations to the Following Students:

1st Place- Katherine & Sylwia- Total Average of 21.3 seconds- The Maze Runner

2nd Place-Nick & Jacob-Total Average of 13.5 seconds-The Domino Effect

3rd Place-Anthony & DJ- Total Average of 11.8 seconds- The Giant PVC

Job Well Done , 6th Graders!

Field Trip time!

Pre-K and Kindergarten went on a field trip to Kohl Children’s Museum in Glenview. We had so much fun! First we took a class called “Build It”. The children were read the story “The 3 Little Pigs”. They were then able to have some “hands on” learning by building a house of their own using different kinds of blocks to see which were the best. The students were then able to explore the rest of the museum. They learned a lot and had tons of fun!

Uniform Reminders

The navy walking shorts can be worn until October 15th. Please remember that students are expected to be in uniform, including uniform hoodies and sweaters.

Also, while girls may wear nail polish, it should cover their natural nails and be a short length. Anything excessive is not allowed. Administration reserves the right to decide if it is considered excessive. Students are not permitted to wear make up. Please refer to the school handbook for any uniform questions.

The creation of the world!

During the next few weeks, we will be listening to the stories from the Bible about the creation of the world! Starting out with nothing, we will listen day by day about something new and wonderful brought into our world. Imagine.... having something new and wonderful being brought into your world every day. Everything that God created, he called "good." What does that tell you about God's creation?

Boon Fundraiser!

Our Boon Supply Fundraiser has begun. All proceeds help support Divine Providence FSA. Catalog packets were sent home with all students last week. Orders can be made online or by order form. If you have any questions, please contact Tracy Zulfer at (708) 426-4816 or at fourleafclover26@comcast.net.
