"2013 The Year of Transformation"
Greetings From Bishop and Pastor Williams
Healthy Nuggets From Sunday's Sermon Entitled "Its Time To Praise the Lord" by Bishop Rick Williams Sr.
Matthew 8:7 & 28-29
Lepers had to sit outside the gates of the city saying unclean, unclean, unclean.
They were talked about.
Their skin looked like raw meat and smelled. The sweat from being in the hot desert made it burn.
Fly's followed them
God gave Moses, the law giver, the law concerning leprosy
Lepers must be brought to priest if its dried up
Lepers have to go through a lot. 7 to 10 days to be cleansed
Even when they thought they were clean they could not go in.
They had to send word to the priest but sometimes the priest was busy and sometimes, being a man, he just didnt want to go!
Lepers had to go through all this stuff in order for a man to say, "You're clean."
Leprosy was a condition which caused the individual to be isolated. They could not grow like everyone because they were kept from doing what others did.
Hair is a contaminate which carries disease in follicles
The lepers had to shave all their hair off
They had to wash 7 times a day
What if we if we had to identify who we are today?
Maybe you can cover up?
The law said identify who you are!
All your secrets your proclivities. I"m the one that's jealous." " I'm the envious one."
"I'm the backbiter."
Its contagious what I have so I must get away from others.
You begin to hang around people now you're contagious.
You catch something because they didnt tell you they were dirty.
All your life someone has labeled you.
Oh there goes Joe Cool!
People are always talking about your temperament. Talking about your attitude.
When Jesus comes in he removes it and changes your identity. He washes you white as snow.
You walk around with nomenclatures:
Noun describes the subject. Name describes who are like: assigning of names:
"Here comes ole Broke so and so."
You're always naming your condition
Your name has power.
When a woman gets married all that's his is hers AND all that's hers is hers too!
You name, "I'm sick..my arthritis...
We identify whats bad as ours.
We are not speaking out of position but condition.
Matthew 8:7 &28-29
Jesus spoke as one with authority as if he knew what he was talking about
Hes author and finisher of our faith
Great multitudes followed him
Behold..look there came a leper
The leper CAME to Jesus here comes someone thats unclean.
He was unclean but he came to see a man named Jesus saying, "Lord if though wilt thou canst make me clean thou can make me whole!"
Replace your condition with Lord!
Worship him. Forget about your condition and "Praise the Lord!"
We are always putting one sin higher than another no matter what it is begin to worship the Lord!"
Jesus is the way the truth the life no one comes to father God but through him.
John 9: 32-38 Any man can be a worshiper but you must believe in the Lord!
You must speak!
Begin to worship the Lord.
Honor gave access for the leper to be healed.
When you access through worship, God WILL do it for you!
In the days of the leper he had to go through so much but Jesus became his mediator
Immediately. ..mediator be in middle
Immediate - not in middle
You're next in line! Its your time!
You're not the middle man anymore!
When you praise, doesn't the atmosphere shift and you feel better? Speak who God says you are!
Step forward, step up, step out! "Its Time to Praise the Lord!"
Today's sermon was....OFF THE CHARTS!! Bishop Williams taught this message in a way all ages could understand from the babes to the elderly. All who received the word with an open heart came away refreshed, set free and stepping out as they "Praised the Lord!"
Honor gives you access! As our dear Elder Sheila Strait says, "If you dont know, you better ask somebody!"
