GUI, CLI, and MDI

Operating System

An operating system is the software that supports all of the computer's basic functions. The operating system manages all of the software and hardware on that computer.

Graphical User Interface

Graphical User interface (GUI), is a type of interface that lets users interact with other users with devices, through graphical icons and also through visual indicators.

Command Line Interface

Command line interface (CLI), is a user interface in a computer's operating system or in an application where the user types in a command on a stated line, then the system responds back, then you type in another command, and so on.

Menu Driven Interface

A menu driven interface (MDI), is an interface in which you are presented with, with a menu. Within the menu there are choices. When you choose one of those choices you are presented with another menu, then another, and so on.
