Virtual Academy Family News
- Please note your child's schedule may change slightly as teachers in our building adjust to serving students in the classroom nest and in the virtual nest. These changes will be small; however, we want you to feel prepared.
- K-3 Virtual Academy Classes will host our Remote Learning students on rotation days through November 16, 2020. You will notice a few new friends in your Google Meets until then. Please encourage your child to be a role model with his/her friends.
- You may begin to notice your child become just a little less enthusiastic about school as we enter into the fall months. This is actually an occurrence in the building as well. We call this the fall slump. The newness of a new year has worn off and students tend to miss the freedom of summer. To combat this in the classroom we try hard to give students encouragement, breaks, and fun rewards to help keep students moving forward and making steps toward progress. You can do this at home as well. Incorporate family weekly goals or personal goals into a routine and reward the whole family with fun activities or treats at the end of the week. Our rewards in the classroom are fun and free, so you won't have to add a trip to Target on your list...unless that's a reward ;).

Positivity Project: BRAVERY
Individuals with this strength are likely to think, feel, or behave in the following ways:
• I would prefer to try and fail, than to never try at all.
• Doing what is right is the most important thing, even if that means I may be injured.
• I know what I’m afraid of and take action to overcome my fears.
• Knowing the right thing to do doesn’t matter if you don’t do what is right.
• When facing a tough decision, it’s better to act in good conscience than sit and do nothing.
“I learned that courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” -NELSON MANDELA
