Principal's Message....
Dear Hollow Hills Families:
It was a good but chilly week in Golden Bear Country. Although cold, I think everyone was thankful the days were dry and our students were able to be outside during recess. On Thursday afternoon, we had a little rain, just enough for a rainbow to appear across the sky. There was something magical about seeing this beautiful symbol of hope over our sweet school.
This week is our first full, 5 day week back to school in 2023. As always, please check the calendar for specific dates and times of this week's activities.
The Great Kindness Challenge: This week we will focus on intentional acts of kindness on campus. Be sure to ask your Golden Bear about the Great Kindness Challenge this week!
Special Recognition/Honor Roll Awards: We are excited to award many of our Golden Bear students with Special Recognition Awards and Honor Roll Awards on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Anytime day we can celebrate our students accomplishments and work ethic is a good day. Parents are welcome to attend and can go directly to the MPR upon arrival to watch the awards. Your child should have received a letter home on Friday if they are receiving an award. Grades K - 2 will receive awards on Tuesday and Grades 3-6 will receive awards on Wednesday. See calendar above for specific times.
Toppers Family Pizza Night: Another night I do not have to cook?? Yes, please. Please join us for pizza at Toppers on Tuesday night. See flyer below for details.
It is always a great day to be a Golden Bear and this week is no exception! Have a wonderful week.

A Message from the PTA.....
The Hollow Hills PTA Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for the 2023–2024 Elected Officers. We welcome all nominations. Our goal is to see that every parent has a voice on our PTA and is given the chance to become actively involved in enriching the educational opportunities at our school.
All officer positions are open for nominations every year as elected positions have a one-year term, with an option to be elected for a second, one-year term.
Please contact the nominating committee at nominations@hollowhillspta.org by January 29th, if you are interested or know someone who would like to be considered. Please include the position(s) you are interested in along with your preferred contact information, and feel free to include a brief (5-6 lines max) summary of why you would like to be considered including any relevant experience and/or qualifications.
We are happy to answer questions. A conversation does not equal commitment so feel free just to inquire.
Officer positions are:
President
Executive Vice President
First Vice President, Fundraising*
Second Vice President, Membership
Third Vice President, Programs
Secretary
Treasurer
Auditor
Financial Secretary*
Historian*
*These positions are currently held by people serving their 2nd one-year term.

This year’s election will take place at the March General PTA Association meeting. In order to vote at the March meeting, you must be a current PTA member for at least 30 days. If you are not yet a PTA member, you can join here https://hhmembership2022.cheddarup.com

Junior Olympics - TRACK COACHES NEEDED!!
If you understand this meme, you can be a track coach!!
Help our Hollow Hills students be able to compete in all events. Without coaches, our Golden Bears may not be able to compete in all available events. Some track experience would be helpful but not required. Making a memorable, fun and meaningful experience for the kids is the goal. Bring your inner Ted Lasso! Practice days/times are flexible and have traditionally been held twice per week after school.
If you’re interested and/or would like more information, please contact Jennifer Jackson at juniorolympics@hollowhillspta.org
