Paine Proud Shout Out....Ms. Barker's Class!
Ms. Barker's students created fraction strips to analyze the sizes of unit fractions. They used a ruler to create their fraction strips, ensuring all pieces in a strip were the same size. So, in addition to studying fractions they applied measurement skills and multiplication/ division. Ms. Barker questioned students as they made connections between fractional amounts. For example, they internalized that an eighth is half the size of a fourth, a half is twice the size of a fourth, etc.
Great Job Students!

2020 Census - The importance of counting children
Shape our children's future. Start with the 2020 Census.
Responding to the 2020 Census is an easy, safe, and important way to help provide resources for children and their communities for the next 10 years. Everyone living in the US is asked to complete a sample questionnaire every ten years that asks for basic information about the people who live or sleep in their home. Children under the age of five, however, are often missed.
Responding to the census is easier than ever. You can complete the census questionnaire online, by phone or by mail.
Start shaping their future by going to 2020census.gov
