Our next Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meeting is this Monday, March 20, at 8:30 am via Zoom. Arroyo Seco Counselors will present information about the recent activities that are being held to help 8th graders make the transition to high school. This year we are sending out a needs assessment survey to staff, students, and parents to gather input about Arroyo Seco. The data is used to make data-driven decisions to improve our school's climate and programs. We value your input. If you have not done so already, please complete Arroyo Seco Parent Survey by Monday, March 20th. Thank you!
Families of 8th Graders, please note that 8th grade students will be receiving information from Saugus High Counselors during their History classes on March 21. SHS Counselors will be meeting individually with 8th grade students to plan their 9th grade schedules the week of April 10-14. If your 8th grader will NOT be attending Saugus High School in the fall, please contact Arroyo Seco's Registrar, Stacy Galdi, at 296-0991 ext. 1130 or option 2, or ASRegistrar@hartdistrict.org. It's important that we have this information so that we can help facilitate your child's transition to the correct high school.

Upcoming Dates and EventsMarch 20: PAC Meeting via Zoom at 8:30 am; Start of 4th Quarter March 30: Open House March 30 & 31: Minimum Days dismissal at 11:50 am April 3-7: No School (Spring Break) April 28: End of 4th Quarter Progress Report Period May 8-19: CAASPP Testing Window May 29: No School (Memorial Day) June 1: Last Day of School (Minimum Day dismissal at 11:50) | CAASPP Testing May 8-19 The state-mandated CAASPP testing will be held from May 8 through May 19. Students will follow a regular bell schedule and will test in their own academic classrooms with their own teachers (typically no more than two class periods of testing a day). Please encourage your children to do their best and take it seriously while not stressing over the tests. Please help minimize absences as much as possible during this time as the student participation rate does impact the overall score the school receives. We also recommend making sure your child is well rested and fed so they can perform to the best of their ability. As has been the case all year, students are able to receive free breakfast and lunch on campus. Summer IMPACT program for 7th grade students who failed one or more classes:

Credit Recovery Program for 8th grade students not meeting promotion credit requirements:

Promoting 8th grade students who want to take health to get ahead:

City of Santa Clarita Youth Arts Showcase
City of Santa Clarita, Newhall Community Center introduce their 7th Annual Youth Art Month Celebration, The Youth Arts Showcase, Painters, Pictures, & Prose Contest! This is an annual visual and literacy arts contest showcasing the artistic talents of youth in our community. Public, private, and homeschooled students, grades K-12, within the City of Santa Clarita are invited to submit their original creative work. Entries from 13-18 years old will also qualify for the Santa Clarita Sister Cities Young Artists & Authors Showcase.
When: Saturday, March 25th, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where: Newhall Community Center, 22421 Market Street
Entry Deadline: March 13, 2023
