PPfT Appraisal
August 2018 Newsletter
Dear Teachers,
Welcome Back! We hope you had a restful and eventful summer.
As a Texas educator, a campus administrator will appraise you annually. To prepare you for your evaluation, Texas law requires all teachers to complete an orientation course focused on how their appraisal system works prior to or at the beginning of the school year before the appraisal process begins.
The PPfT Online Orientation will provide you with valuable information and support during the PPfT Appraisal process. Below is some helpful information for the 2018-2019 school year to get you started.
PPfT Appraisal Online Orientation Information:
- All teachers are required to complete an orientation on the PPfT Appraisal. The Level 1 orientation will provide you with valuable information and support during your first year in the PPfT Appraisal. For those who have already participated in the PPfT Appraisal System for one year, Level 2 will provide updates and reacquaint you with the rubrics. Teachers who have been in the system for multiple years, will complete Level 3 which covers updates and offers an opportunity to review the expectations on the rubrics.
Teachers have already been registered for the appropriate level in the Human Capital Platform (HCP) and should have received a confirmation email from the HCP.
You can find your course under the Professional Development tab in the My Courses channel. You may need to click "show all" under My Courses to see the orientation. If you are not registered, please email claudia.vela@austinisd.org to be added to the course.
The course is titled PPfT Online Orientation for Teachers. (Please know there are sections for elementary and secondary teachers.) Click on this title to begin the course in BLEND.
The online orientation will take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete.
Once you have completed the online orientation, please go to the My Appraisals tab in the HCP and complete the orientation section as shown in the last section in the online course: Teacher Orientation (verification of PPfT Online Orientation) and Individual Learning Plan.
Please see the directions below for additional assistance.
