Dear Families,

Thanksgiving is a time to come together as a family to celebrate and be thankful. As we come near to the holidays this year, we realize that for some this may not be the case given our current world situation.

Know that as a school we have seen great success with the measures we have put in place. This includes keeping distance, sanitizing and wearing our masks. Know that it is still because of your vigilance outside of school that allows us to continue to offer in-person learning. Super proud of our efforts so far!

As schools in the area all contemplate virtual learning and impending spike in cases coming out of our Thanksgiving and Christmas break, we too make the same evaluations. As of today we have 14% of the school out on quarantine and of those 33 students (27 in the 8th grade), 1 has a positive COVID case. We also have one teacher out with a positive COVID case.

This quarantine number will fluctuate throughout the rest of the year but really does not give an accurate picture of the health of the school. Something that we look at very closely is the transmission of cases inside of school. Currently we have had no cases go from one student to another, nor a student to teacher or teacher to student. This speaks volumes to the measures that we have taken in the building.

As you contemplate in-person or virtual instruction for Trimester 2 keep in mind the above points that I have made. In-person learning has been a very safe experience thus far, and I would not anticipate that changing. The health department continues to voice this to us.

REMINDER- we need to know if you plan to be virtual for Trimester 2 by November 20th. Please reach out to me with your decision.
