SPRING IS HERE!

April Staff Meeting Reschedule

We need to reschedule our staff meeting this month. I will send a meeting maker to reflect the change. The meeting will be April 19th at 3:45 and will be short and sweet. Heather McDonald will be presenting information on the Belton Education Foundation. Let me know if you have any questions.

1:1's & Growth Plans

ALL staff need to sign up for a 1:1 with Amanda in April. See Vickie or Sandy to accomplish this. Make sure to complete the questionnaire linked here before the meeting. Thanks!

Certified Staff not on cycle also need to sign up to finalize End of Year Growth Plans. All four forms should be complete prior to meeting.

From the Cafe...

  • Students arriving late (after attendance and lunch count are taken) should stop by the cashier desk to make their lunch choices before heading to class. When your student arrives it would be helpful to check with them.
  • Please remind students to stick with the lunch choice they selected for lunch count. This will help ensure everyone gets what they ordered.
  • Coming soon...students will need to know their lunch numbers. By this fall, Sodexo is planning to have students key their account numbers at breakfast and lunch.

Share Table Guidelines

  • Students may place unopened beverages, individually wrapped foods, fruits with a peel on the share table.

  • Students may take unopened beverages, individually wrapped foods, fruits with a peel on the share table.

  • Nutrition services staff will dispose of share table items at the of the lunch period each day.

  • Individually wrapped foods may be delivered to counselor, Amber Webel, by Nutrition Services staff to be given to students in need. This does not include milk.

TAT

Any students who are struggling academically or behaviorally and are not responding to classroom interventions, should be referred to TAT or Tier 2. Attached you will find a flow chart that should assist you in determining whether a students' needs warrant a TAT or Tier 2 referral. At Gladden we are fortunate to have several staff members ready to lend their expertise to support students and staff in addressing skill deficits.

#GrowingWithGladden - Reflection

The only thing constant in our work is change. This year Gladden experienced several changes: leadership, population, staff, etc. Next year will bring about additional change: a new strategic plan, master schedule, perhaps standards, and even staffing. I am cognizant that change brings about emotions both positive and worrisome. As with anything, please do not hesitate to let me know how I can support you through the change that is inevitable for next year. If you have interest in sparking a change for yourself, through teaching a new grade level, be sure to share that with me as well.
