Water Bottles. School water fountains remain closed. Please remember to send your child with a water bottle. If your kiddo forgets to bring a water bottle, he/she will receive a cup for the day. Contact megan_thomas@nobl.k12.in.us if you need water bottle support.
Initiative. This month we are learning about INITIATIVE: recognizing and doing what needs to be done before being asked. Below are two ways that you can reinforce learning at home.
Be intentional about giving your child opportunities to think about what needs to be done, without telling them what needs to be done. For example, ten minutes before bedtime ask your child, “What do you think you need to do to be ready for bed?” Taking a step back and encouraging your child to think of what needs to be done helps them learn to notice these things themselves.
Have a trait conversation with your child about the role that initiative plays in their school day, asking questions like:
How did you show initiative today?
How was initiative important in school or at practice?
How could you show initiative at school, at home, etc.?
Soaring with you,
Ms. VanDermark

Online Learners
I hope everyone is having a great week and planning to stay warm as the frigid temperatures visit us this weekend. It is hard to believe it is February already. Kudos to you and your family for all that you are doing to make online learning a success for your child.
Coming Soon… Books and Supplies
Currently teachers are ordering books for our online students as well as supplies that will be needed for the remainder of the year. Please watch for messaging toward the end of February/beginning of March about the books and supplies.
Hamilton East Public Library (HEPL)
HEPL would love for you to come visit with your child and check out books. Did you know that your child’s student ID allows them to have digital access to books through HEPL . If you want them to check out print books, all you have to do is go to the library and let them know that you want a library card and that your child attends Noblesville Schools. They will help you from there. Here is a short video to watch to learn about what the library has to offer and how to check out or put items on hold. HEPL has COVID safety protocols in place.
