Screening New Students with the WIDA Screener
To support schools as they begin to prepare for the identification and screening of potential ELs during the spring, summer, and next fall, WIDA has created these new resources to assist with WIDA Screener administration and communication with families:
- My Child is an ELL Flyer: Helps educators explain the EL identification process to parents and family members.
- Let’s Get Going Flyers: (Paper version | Online version): Helps educators navigate the steps of preparing to give WIDA Screener.
- Webinar schedule: WIDA and DRC are offering a free webinar series on WIDA Screener for educators. Webinars will be available to assist with both online and paper administration.

Lynhurst International Festival
On Wednesday, May 16, Lynhurst Seventh and Eighth Grade Center will hold its sixth annual International Festival from 4:30-8:00 pm, to celebrate the diverse cultures that represent Wayne Township. The festival promotes cultural awareness and understanding through educational, cultural, and sports activities. There will be games, live performances, and a soccer tournament. Students have created displays representing countries with information, maps, artifacts and essays that exemplify the diversity of our township. We would love to see you there!
