"Two Are Better Than One"
Greetings friends!
This month E49 met with local pastors, church leaders, and nonprofit directors to discuss in detail our strategies to develop and mobilize the local church to collaboratively offer solutions on critical needs in our region.
We presented five areas of focus:
- Live Your Identity! Developing people from The Church to be local missionaries in the Region and plug in to the collaborative strategies in some way. We’re believing for 300 of these people/leaders over the next 90 days.
- Housing and Hope Project – We’re moving towards the purchase of 100 homes over the next year. Those homes will serve both transitional and permanent housing needs of all area’s of homelessness including sex trafficking victims, refugees/immigrants, families, veterans, youth and chronic homeless. Of the 300 people/leaders we train, many will help us with this project.
- The Mentoring Project– One of the most basic needs of our community is to have well trained people who can mentor in a variety of area’s of need (business, cooking, life skills, education, etc). Of the 300 people/leaders we train, many will choose to help in this way.
- City Hope – Developing churches and their congregations to be community driven both from a mission approach but also from a physical building approach.
- Suite 210 - Developing business people to give back through their vocations whether that be through partnering with talent, time or treasure.
- Live Your Worship! - Developing and cultivating a culture of Worship in our Region!
Do you have 3-5 people from your organization with a desire to plug in to any of the area’s we mentioned above? Or do you have untapped potential in your congregation of people you know God is calling to do more? If so we are offering offer training in the next 30 days. Please email info@e49corp.org and give us an idea of days/times and number of people so that we can set a date. Remember this training is $200 per person. It takes about 8 hours to complete.
Last, we are working on a documentary for our region discussing the issues in front of us. It will show us some of the things you may not be aware are happening in our region and will also show what the Church in Sacramento is doing to help! Our first filming of interviews of people in the Region and what they are doing is Friday September 25th. Please contact Megan McCleary at 916-895-1786 to schedule a time for your part!

Meet E49 member Tamiska Jones-Hurst
Tamiska Jones-Hurst is a current student at University of Phoenix looking to complete a BSHS/FCS as a Human Service Worker/Family Child Services in 2016. She is a veteran of the US Navy which encouraged her to use her entrepreneurial skills and ability to help others. Her entrepreneurship led to the founding of The Jones and Davis Resource and Referral Family Outreach Corner in 2005 which includes Tamiska and her three boys and was the beginning of a family based organization. The nickname, JD’S Resource Corner was the beginning of a Source of Hope which offered a helping hand during times of personal transformation within the community.
Tamiska is originally from Inkster Michigan and was shifted to Sacramento CA in 1999. She thought she could continue this journey on her own as a single parent but in 1999 she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into her life and everything began to change. She soon began her journey of transformation as she received her AS degree in 2005. She then received her 501 c 3 in 2011. And she acknowledged her transformation when she became Tamiska Jones-Hurst, marrying Minister Cloris E. Hurst in 2013.
