December Issue
Have a safe and happy holiday season..............
From the podium.............
The end of the first semester is upon us. We could not be more proud of our students and their efforts in making this such a great semester. We are excited what lies ahead in 2019. We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season and hope you enjoy our last issue of 2018.
Semester Projects
Members of the Concert, Varsity, and Symphonic bands have been working on their Chamber Ensemble projects the past couple of weeks. Students selected small groups to perform with, chose a piece of music to rehearse, and have created a display board containing instrument history, composer/style of music details, and information about the country of origin or the birth country of the composer. Groups will present and perform their projects this week in class. Below are some images of their work days.
Jazz Band Concert
Congratulations to all of the members of the Jazz Band on a tremendous first concert a few weeks ago! You did an outstanding job!
Humane Society for Hamilton Society
The FCJH Music Department Humane Society Drive ends this Friday. Bands are competing against each other for a donut party on the last day to see who can bring in the most items. Items can be brought to the band room. On Thursday, we will take items to the front office area. Our school wide goal is 2000 items. Please check out their wish list below and thank you for helping out our friends at the shelter!
FCI Convocation
On Wednesday of last week, our 6th grade band performed for the student body along with the choir and orchestra. We were so very proud of our 140 member band! They did an outstanding job for their very first public performance. We are very excited to debut this band to parents and family on their February concert on 2/12/19 at 6:30pm in the FCI gym!
