PICTURE DAY - September 21st
School Pictures on Wednesday
Individual Fall Pictures will be Wednesday, September 21st.
If you have specific questions not answered here, please contact LifeTouch Portraits directly at (866) 955-8342.
HOW DO I PAY FOR PICTURES?
You have two options to pay for pictures:
- You can pay using the envelope that comes home with your child. (Extra forms are available at the school). Your student will turn that into the photographer.
- You can pay online at MYLIFETOUCH.COM. Enter the job number (DO416066Q0) and your student’s name. Then pick your package and products. No need to send anything to the school, we will make sure that you receive what you order. WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE PICTURES? We have a money back guarantee. If you are not happy with your purchase, simple return and we will refund your money. We also provide a retake day for each school during the fall. Return the package you are not happy with and we will replace the package you purchased with a new photo taken that day.
Retakes will be on November 9, 2016.
WHAT CAN MY CHILD WEAR?
Though we use a background replacement program, there is no color that is not compatible.
WHAT IF I FORGET TO SEND THE PAYMENT THE DAY OF PICTURE DAY?
No problem, you can still order. Your child will receive a proof of their picture. You can now go online and order the pictures. These pictures will be sent directly to you instead of the school. Please note that there is a handling fee for orders taken after picture day. If you do not have online access, please call us a 214-358-4444 and we will take your order over the phone.
The World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser began on Tuesday, September 19th. The proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to PTA and in turn, PTA spends those proceeds on our students.

Corey Library celebrates Dot Day
Peter H. Reynolds states, "Imagine the power and potential of millions of people around the world connecting, collaborating, creating and celebrating all that creativity inspires and invites. I hope you will join the growing global community of creativity champions using their talents, gifts and energy to move the world to a better place."
The week of September 12-15, the Corey Library celebrated International Dot Day. Peter Reynold's book, The Dot, is about a little girl who does not believe she can draw. Vashti's Art teacher encourages her to "Just make a mark and see where it takes you.” Corey students listened to the story and then created their own “dot” artwork. We discussed how we could “make our mark” in our school, neighborhoods and community. Come by and see the Dot Gallery down the main hallway.
Sincerely, Mrs. Ledesma
Ms. Samantha Uribe - Art
Ms. Uribe is our new art teacher. Together with Ms. Airhart, ,they make a great team. She has taught previously in AISD and she taught art on a cruise ship for a while.
You can check out her blog here.
We asked her some questions so you could get to know her.
Q: If you were a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why?
A: If I was an added color to a crayon box, I would be Sunflower Yellow. Just like a sunflower, I try to add happiness and joy wherever I go!
Q: Do you believe in Bigfoot?
A: Bigfoot? Like that big hairy man that I feed cookies to on Sundays? Oh yeah, he is definitely real and he is not as scary like you may think. If you ever get lucky enough to meet him, make sure you have a mint... his breath is pretty stinky.
Q: How lucky are you and why?
A: I think I am the luckiest person I know! I have been able to do SO many cool things in my life and now I am at the best school with the coolest job! BUT I do believe that being lucky only comes to those who are kind and loving to everyone they meet. If you do great things, you will receive great things.
Q: What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
A: Hmmm...this is a tough question. I think it is every time I can be silly with my husband... he is hilarious and makes me laugh.
