Campus Improvements

Continuing with last week's theme of progress, we are elated to report that the drop-off and pick-up procedures all around the Wildwood campus are rapidly improving. The collective efforts of our school community (parents, staff, students) are to be credited for this change that is creating a safer environment for the children. Keep it up, Tiger Family!

On campus, we are also celebrating improvements to our physical environment that promote greater safety and learning on campus: most notably, the newly installed shade structures and the restoration of our library to its permanent home. The shade structures are already helping us beat the heat we've been experiencing lately, and the library will open this coming week for classroom visits.

We've included a few photos of these campus improvements below, and we hope you will take a look for yourself next time you're on campus to volunteer or to enjoy one of our many community building events.

Mr. Lynch

Celebrating Wildwood!

We invite all Tiger families to join two of our efforts to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our school.

  1. Please encourage any Wildwood alumni to submit a 30-second to 2-minute video to klynch@conejousd.org explaining how Wildwood was special to them and where it led them to today. We are hoping to showcase one video each week in our Wildwood Weekly as a part of our celebration.
  2. Please consider joining our 50th Anniversary team to plan a 50s Sock Hop to be held during lunchtime on Friday, November 4 - our 50th day of school in our 50th year of operation. We already have a pizza lunch with ice cream secured for this special day. We are looking for volunteers to help us decorate our MPR and bring the fun with music and dancing.

Wildwood's GATE Program

Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) provides qualitatively differentiated learning experiences for students with unique abilities, interests and talents with the expectation that students will be successful learners capable of performing at high levels of ability. Research has shown that specialized instructional strategies, along with opportunities for gifted students to interact with each other on a regular basis, yield higher academic performance, as well as improved social and emotional well-being.

To learn more about CVUSD's GATE program and offerings, click HERE. To learn more about Wildwood's process of GATE identification and school offerings, please join us on Zoom for an informational meeting from 5:00-5:30pm on Tuesday, October 11. You may use this ZOOM link to access the virtual meeting.
