Marketplace
has finally COME!
Brief Overview of Marketplace
Many of you have probably already heard the buzz! As part of our study of economics, the students will be participating in Marketplace. We will begin by discussing product selection with the children. In the past, students have sold painted rocks, handmade rope bracelets, greeting cards, paper airplanes, used books, bookmarks and baked goods. Supporting ISB’s mission of leading a healthy and active lifestyle children will be unable to sell candy or food with a high sugar content. We would like to encourage healthy food options as prizes or products. Some students developed services such as desk cleaning, face painting, and taking other students’ pictures, DIY crafts, arcade games etc. These are only a few of the many imaginative products and services that can be sold.
Next week a letter and formal business plan will come home with your child detailing a business that they would like to initiate. This proposal will require your signature as well as mine. PLease discuss with your child their business idea, and please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
