Windrixville Church caught on Fire!

November 20, 1965, the Church on Jay Mountain caught fire. It is believed that a cigarette or match caused the fire. There are three teenagers that said they had left those items in the area. When the firemen arrived there were many children and about five kids got trapped in the church. Two teenagers were heroic and ran in saving the children and came out badly injured. One of the teenagers came out on fire with a jacket that saved his life; then another was crushed by a beam and is in critical condition.
