Wild Week Behind Us
Hello Crawford families,
Last week was a wild week with COVID, Modified Operations and Heightened Protection Protocol for two classes. As the week progressed we saw fewer positive cases, and if this trend continues we will move out of Modified Operations at the end of the school day on Monday. Thank you all so much for your patience and help during the last week.
This last two weeks has been especially impactful for staff, and we have had many staff members absent as well as students. Everyone pulled together to cover the absences and make sure our students were well served throughout. Kudos to our awesome Crawford staff!
This year has been especially difficult for Mrs. Ellis, a member of our third grade team. She has made the very difficult decision to resign her position as a third grade teacher to concentrate on her health. We are very fortunate to welcome Candice Onken to fill her position through the end of the year. We will welcome her aboard on Monday as the new teacher for the class. We know the students and staff will miss Mrs. Ellis and we all wish her good health and good luck in the future.
On January 27 the School Board had a work session, available here. Each of the options put forward has Anderson Elementary closing and the students from Anderson being reassigned to Crawford. At the meeting on Tuesday, February 1, the School Board will be voting on the consolidation of Anderson and Crawford as well as the new model for middle school, which has current Crawford fifth graders attending Ben Eielson Junior/Senior High School for sixth grade. If you would like to make your thoughts known to the School Board, For your convenience, here is the agenda link to the February 1, 2022 School Board Regular Meeting.
Please take a few moments to click on the links and review the information in the agenda as it will be very impactful to our school and base communities.
We wish all of our families good health and can't wait to welcome everyone back. Take care!
