You have to use trig when finding out how far away a star is from another star or planet, or how far a planet is from another planet.
What is astronomy?
Astronomy is studying the universe, stars, planets, and the atmosphere. There is only around 6,000 astronomers in North Carolina.

The astronomer had the job of figuring out how far the earth was from the sun. The moon is 150 miles from the sun and the sun descending at a 19 degree angle towards the Earth. How far is the Sun from the moon?
