What's Buzzin' at Bryant

Week of August 15, 2022

A Message from Mrs. Johnson

Hello Bryant families,

What an awesome first week of school! For the first time we welcome early TK students to Bryant. It was so great to see our little 4 year old students jump right in to the routine of being at "big kid school". Everyone returned back with a high level of enthusiasm and excitement. Great job everyone!

Back to School Night (BTSN) is this Thursday, August 18th from 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm. The purpose of BTSN is for families to have the opportunity to meet the teacher and to hear the wonderful plan for the school year. For those families that may have more that one student, we will have two 30 minutes sessions. We will begin with a brief school gathering and introduction of the staff at 6:00 pm. Session 1 will begin at 6:15 pm and Session 2 will begin at 6:45 pm. As a reminder, if you are ill or if anyone in your household is ill, please be mindful of the health and wellness of all of our families and do not attend BTSN. It is recommended that you make alternate arrangements with the classroom teacher to receive any/all pertinent information. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Lastly, as a reminder, all parents are required to complete the online data confirmation process through the Aeries parent portal no later than September 30, 2022. Please see the information in the bulletin related to how to complete this process.

Everyday promises to be better and better. Let's continue to work together as a team. I truly appreciate your partnership.

As always, BEE fantastic, BEE great, BEE the difference!

Developing Community in 5th/6th grade

Mr. Clark and his super 5th and 6th graders began the year by learning how to work together to problem solve and effectively communicate with each other. What a great way to establish a loving and caring classroom community.

Mighty Mathematicians!

Third grade students in Mrs. Contreras' class began the year learning how the process of repeated addition is the first step in learning your multiplication facts. Great job 3rd graders!

Game Club is coming!

We are always looking for fun and entertaining ways to keep our students engaged during the school day. This year, we would like to start a "Game Club". Bryant's "Game Club" will be facilitated by our MTSS Counselor, Mr. Babar. This will provide students with a space to work collaboratively with other students, work on social skills, and just have a little fun while playing board games during recess and/or lunch. If you would like to help with the start up of "Game Club" by donating an elementary aged appropriate board game, we would appreciate it very much. All donations can be dropped off at the front office. We thank you in advance for your support.

Attendance Matters

Daily attendance has a directly correlation to increased student achievement. When your child is at school on time, everyday, they are set up for success! It is important that our little bees are at school on time every day ready to learn. If students would like to have breakfast in the morning, we begin serving at 7:40 am. The school bell rings at 8:10 am. During the first week of school, Bryant averaged approximately 25 absences and 22 tardies everyday. With a school population that is small like ours, this rate is higher than expected. If your child is ill it is undertstandable and appreciated if they remain at home. In all other cases, let's continue to work as a team and a school community to ensure our students receive the maximum benefit of all that is to be offered throughout the school day by ensuring they are present and on time. Thank you so much for your support.

Data Confirmation in Aeries

Attention Bryant Parents: Don't forget to complete your 2022-23 data confirmaiton in Aeries Portal by September 30. Having the most up-to-date information is important and the best way to stay connected. https://bit.ly/RUSDAeries

Aeries Parent Portal Accounts will automatically be created and associated with your student once the contact record is entered and saved by the school site. Parents will receive an email containing their username and password. Please check your spam/junk folders for said email. To associate multiple students/siblings to a parent account, simply add your email address and a Y in each student's (or sibling's) Contact record.

RUSD Dress Code

A diverse group of RUSD students and staff convened this year to update the RUSD dress code policy. Input from parents was gathered as well. Parents and students have the ultimate responsibility of grooming. However, the role of the school site is to ensure student dress does not interfere with the health or safety of a student, and does not contribute to a hostile or intimidating learning environment.

Please see the graphics below. You may also see Board Policy 5132 or refer to the RUSD Parent/Student Handbook.

Free breakfast and lunch for all

For the 2022-2023 school year, breakfast and lunch will be free for all students. Students are welcomed to bring a lunch from home however, if there is a need or desire to eat at school all students are welcomed to do so.
