UPK
Our district has two options offered to families this year: full-day UPK at Colden Elementary School or full-day UPK at Early Bird. Our district is fortunate enough to have been able to open a second full-day UPK classroom at Colden. Students are able and encouraged to ride the bus once they are four years of age. Families are responsible for transportation to and from UPK programs if their child is three years of age.

The district is currently accepting bus passes for childcare purposes only. Please fill out the District Transportation Request Form as soon as possible. This form can also be filled out electronically on the district website: Transportation Request Form 2023-2024 (google.com)

Updates from the District
Partnering with PTA
The Colden PTA is thrilled to welcome families back to school for the 2023-24 school year! We look forward to another amazing year of events and programs that enhance our studentsβ lives.
At the final meeting of the school year last June, new officers were elected. Congratulations to Co-Presidents Maggi Preston and Melissa Cataldo, Co-Vice-Presidents Kathy McDermott and Amelia Giardino, Treasurer Lynne Button, and Secretary Jennifer Embt.
The first PTA meeting of the school year is planned for Wednesday, September 13 at 7 p.m. Meetings will be held via Zoom. All interested in the success of our students and their families is welcome to attend. Watch for more information on meetings and how to become a 2023-24 Colden PTA member to come home in early September.
The first major PTA event of the school year will be Fall Fest, scheduled for Friday, October 27. This is the biggest family event of the year, but we need help to make it happen! If you would like to volunteer for planning, setting up, working part of the event, or cleaning up afterward, please email either Maggi Preston at mpreston@springvillegi.org or Jennifer Embt at jembt@springvillegi.org. No contribution is too small!
Again, watch for more information to come home with your students, and please help us make this year the best one yet for PTA and our families!
Parent Volunteers
Mrs. Beamer is our new Volunteer Coordinator. Family members must complete the Volunteer Form and be Board of Education approved before volunteering in classrooms or helping at school events.
Please look for this paperwork to come home with your child the first week of school. If you have any questions, please contact her at kbeamer@springvillegi.org.
