8th Grade
English Language Arts (General and Honors)
In 8th grade English Language Arts, Honors Level students will be completing a Literary
Analysis Essay on the Horror Unit, while Grade Level students will be completing a Text Dependent Analysis on a short story. In addition, all 8th-grade ELA students will begin a novel study in which they will analyze characters, settings, events, author’s craft, and themes.
English I
English 1 students will finalize a short story unit focusing on horror elements. Students will complete a literary analysis. We will begin a novel study in which they will focus on characters, author’s craft, figurative language, and themes.
