Math
This week students will be learning how to solve multi-step equations including variables on both sides (Lesson 2-5). Please be sure your child keeps up with their Independent Work!

Social Studies
Students have started objective 2 over George Washington's Presidency. You should be able to login and check your students first objective grade Monday over the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Students who have not mastered objective 1 will continue with interventions and retesting next week.

ELA
Unit Objective:
I can read a text closely, seeing things that are hard to see. I can read between the lines to understand character traits, conflict, and setting.
This week we have worked with Miss Awful to reflect on internal and external character traits. We will wrap up our unit on Monday with our Unit Post Test. As this unit comes to a close we will work on taking a pre-test to determine our reading comprehension of grade levels texts. The 8th Grade ELA department will also be introducing and helping students login to NWEA this upcoming week so that students are prepared to show their skills in their content classes.

Students will test and reflect on the redesigned lander. Then we will begin our forces unit with a forces lab.

Define the criteria and constraints of a design problem with sufficient precision to ensure successful solution, taking into account relevant scientific principles and potential impacts on people and the natural environment that may limit possible solutions.
