News & Updates About Aldine Technology Integration
Currently there are over 1,700 teachers (and counting!) district wide participating in the online Level Up! program. The course is a self-paced PD opportunity that focuses on basic technology integration. Teachers earn 6 hours of credit and a digital badge establishing them as "Level 1 Certified". This course is open for anyone. Go to ePortal and find the Level Up! section at the top of the page to enroll. At least 9 of your Level Up! teachers will receive 1/2 sets of chromebooks later this fall.
What should I see in my building as a result of Level Up?
- teachers using digital tools for formative assessment (such as Google Forms & Padlet)
- staff members posting in your campus Google+ community
- teachers accessing digital tools from Library Services
- staff members using Google Hangouts for video conferencing
iTechs Are Getting Ready!
Your iTech is currently going through a 3-part training to offer technology coaching for your teachers. We are excited about this new venture, as it promises to give teachers more personal support where they want it. Look for your iTech to share the tech coaching structure with you and how it impacts their SLOs.
They have already received part 1 of their training and will receive part 2 and 3 over the next several weeks.
Technology Integration & SAMR
Take a look at this introductory video (below) about the SAMR Model. iTechs will be using this, along with the TLP, to help teachers integrate tech tools and digital resources in more effective ways.
