Safety is our Top Priority

In the wake of last week's school shootings in Florida, we're sure many parents have concerns about their children's safety while at school. The safety, care and concern of each of our students is our top priority. In addition to having regular safety drills, we are reviewing our lock down procedures and all safety precautions we learned from last summer's training, which was provided by the Houston Police Department.

We Did It!

Corpus Christi Catholic School was presented the 2018 David Guite Spirit Award at the Steps for Students 5K Race this past Saturday. 12 applications were submitted. CCCS had a tremendous Steps for Students season, displaying spirit in the following ways:

  • Steps for Students pep rally
  • Steps for Students t-shirt design contest
  • Orange t-shirt spirit Tuesdays
  • Chili Cook Off
  • Chick fil A onsite dine event

Thanks to everyone for your support of this fundraiser! Whether you registered for the race, set up a webpage, participated in the Chili Cook Off, ordered an orange shirt, sponsored a walker/runner, or came out on race day, we appreciate you and couldn't have done it without you. This award is for our entire community! Thank you!

We're Getting Closer to our Marquee Goal!

Did you know that all Steps for Students money raised over $10,000 goes towards our marquee sign goal? As of last Friday, we have $11,647 raised in online donations, which doesn't include off line donations or registration money. It's not too late to collect donations. The last day is this Thursday, February 22nd. Thank you for your generous support!

Chick fil A is Coming to Corpus

Dine in with family and friends in Prefontaine Hall or take out on this Thursday, February 22nd from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Meet Bolt the Colt and the Chick fil A Cow. Students may wear their orange Steps for Students t-shirt to school with uniform bottoms.

Pre-order and pre-payment are due today. Limited “extras” available for purchase on day of the event. Order forms were sent home in last Tuesday's folder.

The Winter Chill Auction Gala

A huge THANK YOU to all the parents, staff, parishioners, and friends who joined us for the 2017-2018 school year auction gala held on February 3rd. We are so fortunate to have such a supportive group who tirelessly support our fundraising efforts! The feedback has been very positive and early results show that we grossed approximately $71,000! Funds raised from this auction gala event help to bridge the gap between tuition fees and the actual cost to educate each of our students. Also, during the auction, bidders generously responded to a “Fund the Future” opportunity, which will allow us to continue with purchasing supplies for our STREAM initiatives.

Of course, we could not have done it without the amazing support and hard work of the Auction Gala Committee and all the volunteers that worked before, during, and after the big event. Thank you to Auction Gala Chair, Ofelia Stevens, for pulling it all together. And last, but not least, THANK YOU to all the parents, staff, and friends who worked on class art projects, donated items for the class baskets, or donated to the live and silent auctions. We could not have done it without your support- Corpus Christi is certainly blessed to have such a wonderful school community!

Lenten Fact

Why do we Receive Ashes on Ash Wednesday?

The act of receiving ashes on one's head on Ash Wednesday reminds us of our humility and our mortality. We do all things through Christ. Without Him, in the end, we are dust.

Prayer Requests

  • For God's healing of Mr. Joe Nguyen, father of Tiffany (5th grade)
  • For God's healing of Donata Calilung Dizon, grandmother of April Parhms (4th grade)
  • For peace in our world
