The Woodland Road Scandal Review
New Year's Eve Speical Edition
Woodland Road Celebrates another fabulous year.....
Toasting of the Tree
The Blythe/Crookham families hosted the 5th annual toasting of the tree celebration on December 22, 2017. Many neighbors attended including a few that are not usually on the road this time of year including the Paulsens and Ahrens families.
Drinks were served and Neal and Brian cooked up some amazing pork sandwiches.
The highlight of this years event was a gift from Jeff and Lisa. They gave everyone specially engraved wine glasses to commemorate this event.
**Please remember, we all agreed that if a neighbor shows up at your house with the special wine glass, you are to fill it up. **
It will be hard to top this years toasting -- applications can be filled out for next year's toasting until November 2018. WHO WILL HOST NEXT YEAR???

NEW ADDITION TO THE ROAD
We welcomed a special new addition to our road this year -- CHRISTINE DEGEEST.
Christine and Randy married on January 1, 2017. The newlyweds have really set the expectation pretty high. The Blythe family is hoping their new neighbors put some curtains up in 2018 - Rumor has it there is quite a show on the weekends.

SURPRISE VISITS
You never know where Joe and Jeanie will pop up. They were kind enough to give Reed and Tate their seats to an ICUBS game this summer.
ROXIE - BAD DECISION TOUR
Randy and Christine brought us Roxie Copland for a party in the barn in August. The stage crew did a good job building a stage and handling crowd control. There is talk of this becoming an annual event.
Standing room only for Roxie
The new kids on the block - Chris and Gary Jepsen are fresh to Woodland Road. We are waiting to see if the McNulty's scare them off and if Jeff's complex continues.
Summer storms
After all the work the Peterson's did to the pond, it created a nice scene for the little rain we received from Mother Nature. The Peterson's are hoping for a wet spring to finish filling the pond. Fishing license can be obtained at Mahaska Veterinary Clinic - They will also have a how to cast your reel class. Wait - was Randy putting on the clinic???
McNulty gifts are the best!
Lisa wears the crown for creativity on the road. It's possible there will be some competition in 2018.... but for now - SHE RULES!
Nice September Picnic
Joe and Jeanie were so excited to have a wonderful table setting for their guests in September. Joe had his favorite Iowa State Whiskey and coke and Jeanie really enjoyed the red and yellow flowers.
IOWA STATE vs. IOWA
ISU might have lost in football, but they won in basketball in 2017. Looks like we are tied up -- until next year.
Joe REALLY enjoys all the Iowa State treasures he gets from the Peterson's - he secretly is hoping for a lot more in 2018.

What Goes Around... Comes Around
Jeanie's been hanging around Joe too long -- she decided to fight back this year with IOWA stuff. Looks like another competition is in the works for 2018.
SCANDAL IN THE HOOD....
Gary and Chris Jepsen moved into the neighborhood in August. They fit in this neighborhood perfect and we are hoping they decide to stay -- FOR A WHILE! They drink wine, have witty comebacks and bring good food to a party. What more could we ask for on this street?
The Gillespie's have been quiet this year, we expect to hear more from them in 2018. Marti has been giving Tom the "hairy eyeball" a lot this year - more on that situation in the next issue.
Betsy has been a fabulous edition to the street as she puts up with the Peterson boys all the time. They are often found eating cheese balls and ice cream at her house.
Joe and Jeanie continue to stir up trouble, but being the matriachs of the street, they can do that. Joe is sometime spotted walking late at night to get his steps in. This is the story he is telling everyone. Fortunately Jeanie doesn't cut him any slack at tennis. She reminds him who the boss is.
The Hadden's are still feeding their kids special water -- more grandchildren on the way in 2018. Neal is the smoking master - he is requesting parties every month so he can cook for the neighborhood.
Crossing the street we run into the Blythe Family. Vaughn is the neighborhood blow king. He has his blower out at least once a week and usually like clockwork. They were kind enough to host the toasting this year and show off their beautiful new kitchen/dining area.
Christine and Randy are finally together in the same house! They will celebrate their 1st anniversary on January 1, 2018. Christine was spotted pushing her anniversary gift down the street a few months ago. You'll have to ask her about that. Now that Christine has moved in, Randy has been put to work. They did LOTS of work out in the yard and somethings tells us, she isn't finished yet.
The Peterson's too have a lot of money laying in the backyard. They moved the windmill much to the dismay of the DeGeeet's, but for the sake of the new fish in the pond it was accepted. The Peterson boys will be offering yard services in 2018. Tate on the mower and Reed directing traffic from his new phone. Jenn continues to keep tabs on the neighbors and Nate secretly wants to hide out in Jeff's shop a lot more.
Billy and Laurie have been keeping busy and Billy says he wants to cook the neighborhood a meal in his new instapot.
Jeff and Lisa continue to hold down the east end of the road. Jeff got a new Porsche this year. He hasn't offered any of us a ride yet, so we'll continue to wait for him to pick his favorite neighbor to drive around. Jeff got stuck on his lift while putting up his Christmas lights -- he is threatening no lights next year. We cannot let this happen. Sign the petition to make Jeff hang lights in 2018. Lisa is just the best. Enough said.
