The Weekly Connection
Updates from the Principal's Office - October 17th, 2021
Message from Mrs. Jones
This week marked our Kickoff to College & Career Readiness, and the halfway point for the first semester of the school year! Take a few moments to review the information in this week's letter so that you are "in the know" regarding campus events. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Kickoff to College & Career Readiness:
This week students in all grade levels had the opportunity to participate in our Kickoff to College & Career Readiness! Students in grades 9, 10, and 12 experienced a panel of speakers with experience in retail, biochem, law enforcement and fire protection, zoology, and military, as well as opportunities to visit a college, career, & community service fair, and finally, skills & interest activities to connect them with college & career options. Students in grade 11, along with 10th graders who "opted in," were able to take the PSAT. Please take a moment to ask your student about their experiences! We look forward to continuing our focus on College & Career Readiness throughout the school year!
Attention Advanced Placement and IB Students!
If you are currently enrolled in an AP or IB class, you should have received the Exam Registration Letter from your AP/IB teacher. Please make sure to return your letter to the Assistant Principals' office as soon as possible in order to confirm the exams in which you plan to participate in this Spring. Once your letter of intent has been approved, the corresponding fees for your exams will be added to your account. Fees can be paid either online through the Aeries Fee Payment Portal or at the ASB window, before school, at nutrition or at lunch. Students must either pay your entire exam fee or the deposit prior to 10/29/21 in order to secure your test.
Please also see the attached Free and Reduced Fee Eligibility Form. Keep in mind - all students are currently receiving free lunch through the State of California. In order to qualify for a Fee Reduction on AP/IB Testing, families must meet the Income and Household Guidelines outlined in the attached eligibility form.
Let's make this a great week, Warriors!
