Sensory, Art, Science:
We are excited to rip and crumble magazines, work on our scribbling skills, use scoop and spoons to play sand, and splat paint.
Math:
We will be working on comparing big and little objects and puzzles. We will also see if we can match our new cupcakes to the correct color, play with our number rubber ducks, and work on counting and color recognition using pegs.
Dramatic Play:
We will have a ton of puppet shows, explore nature inside, pretend to be ducks, snakes, kangaroos, tigers, and birds to name a few.
Social-Emotional:
We like to talk to the babies as soon as possible on things that we know they will be practicing soon. We will be introducing the language of gentle touches, friends, and taking turns. We will also continue to work on our sign language.
Zoophonics:
We will be working on Kayo Kangaroo, Allie Alligator, Vincent Vampire this month! There are links attached in our newsletter where you can check out more about Zoophonics.
**Kayo is pronounced wrong in the video, it is actually KO.
The Junior Scouts & Stuart Littles
This month we will be reading lots of books together to help us recognize our letters and expand our vocabulary. We will also be learning some new signs to helps us with the words we sometimes forget. We will also be using some sensory activities to help us describe the feelings of hard, smooth, fuzzy, soft and other things.
We are splitting into two classes- The Stuart Littles will be comprised of our older ones! It will be a interesting time for our ones as we add new friends and grow!
We are also excited to be settling into our new classroom with our friend Nolan! We are very happy he is coming back. Thank you for your patience while we get acquainted with our new classroom.
The Scouts & Stuarts

Next week, we are learning about our friend Nigel night owl! We are really going to be working on our numbers and nice words and learning to say no in a nice way!
After that, we are going to learn about Willie Weasel! We are going to talk about lots of things that start with letter W like worms, watermelons, webs, water beads, and weekdays!! We are going to work on actions this week like washing our hands, the difference between whispers and yelling, using words like “watch out, please” and “you’re welcome!”
Sawyers

This month we will be trying some new tasty foods on taste tuesdays, so make sure you ask your kids about the things they are experiencing on tuesdays! Our sensory table will be taken up a notch this month as well, we will have mashed potatoes for M week, play and feel the differences in cooked and uncooked noodles as well as using them with art. For W we will use water for all types of art and science! Our class continues to grow, so we look forward to all the new faces and families that we will get to know!

Healthy Start Wisdom
Healthy Start
Do you find it hard to stay active and healthy at work? Have no fear - Deskercise is here! Unlike us at TTS, who get to run around with your kiddos all day and get our workout in with them, you might be stuck at a desk at work or have limited space to move around. If that is true, check out DESKERCISE! It can get you strecthed out in limited time and space!
Healthy Start Wisdom From Ms. Alisha
March is National Nutrition Month: To teach healthy eating, parents should model healthy habits!
The importance of breakfast
incorporating all the food groups into breakfast is a great way to cover the nutritional bases. Examples include cereal with milk, fruits, granola, granola bars, yogurt, eggs, whole wheat breads and breakfast bars. Because so many families are hurried in the mornings, it's important to try to find a way to incorporate a nutritious breakfast into a chaotic morning routine.
Modeling healthy behaviors, packing healthy lunches - The USDA advises parents to talk to children about what's included in their lunch to make sure they understand why all those foods are important.

· Thank you for everyone who donated to our Valentine's Day party with everyone's help we had a fun party!
· Thank you to the parents who donated paint, paper, and their time to us. We truly appreciate it.
· We had another great Parents Night Out
· The Girl Scout cookies order
· Your soap orders
Would you like to donate?
We could use:
- White Scrap Paper
- Pencils
Is there ever a time when you say to youreself, " I wonder if The Tot Spot would want this"? We could use it in so many ways. You may have babies, but the whole school is yours. Everything can turn into a sensory activity or learning experience. So, before you throw out your junk, ask your teacher if it could be used.
The Teacher's Spotlight!
Question: What are you interested in that most people haven't heard of and why?
Ms. LeAndra: I collect vintage Strawberry Shortcake stuff...maybe there's people who have no idea who she is?
Ms. Corrine: Art therapy for my career because I get asked what that is a lot.
Ms. Emily: I really thought about this and I have nothing.
Ms. Jacanda: I’m interested in Anita Baker greatest Hits! I absolutely love her greatest hits album and a lot of people have no clue who she is, but her music touches my soul like no other. Very relaxing.
Mr. Mike: Pass
Ms. Stacey: The 1800’s
Ms. Danielle: Myself? Lol idk I talk about myself all of the time when I doubt people care.
Ms. Crystal: CBD oil because of its positive effects on the mental and physical health with no side effects or dependence.
Mr. Andy: Ocean Liner History
Ms. Maggie: One interest that I am into that most people don't know is that I love to swim the 200 freestyle which is 8 lengths of the pool. I like to this because it challenges me and I learn how to pace myself so that I don't get tired.
Ms. Mikayla: My boyfriend and I love to play the board game Catan. We have a couple different expansions and have played games for Catan league. I only have a couple points since I kept losing games :)
Ms. Katie: I'm interested in alternative healing. My father died of cancer and, since modern medicine was unable to help him, I've become fascinated by natural healing options like essential oils and herbs to help improve health.
Ms. Hailey: I’m into murder mysteries & solving crimes
Ms. Ericka: So you know the movie inside out right? I've always been very interested in being able to watch my memories and dreams like a movie. Go as far back as I want and just pick one. It sounds weird but that would be cool to me. Not sure if it's actually a thing either but I'd like to do it. Doing that would actually be a great script for a life time movie too!
Ms. Erin: Mental Disorders, because everyone thinks they know what they are, what they mean but they don't.
Ms. Alisha:
Ms. Allison: I have watched all the Star Trek episodes and movies, I know a lot of random things about it...and Star Wars. hmm outting myself as even more of a nerd...
