From the Principal's Office
Wow! What an amazing start to our new school year. It is hard to believe that we have already completed four weeks!
We know that our car line is long! Please be patient! A lot of students will begin riding the bus and this will reduce the number of cars in our line. We have not been counting tardies for students coming through the car line, and students are always able to get breakfast. We will be starting to count tardies next week. The car line and school doors open at 7:30 am. Please do not drop your students off at the Public Library or anywhere in our facility parking lot or bus loop. We have been given warnings this week and starting next week this will be addressed individually. This is for your children's safety. Please follow our drop off and pick up procedures!
We hope that you have the best year ever here at Pinewood! Remember, our doors are always open!
Mitzi Robinson, Principal

Physical Education with Coach Ledford
While we’re spending most of our time during this 1st 9 weeks in the pavilion, we are doing some short distance jogging/ running along with the Challenge Course daily.
K-3 students have played Hole in 1, a rolling game of accuracy, practiced throwing and catching skills with various sized balls, played Pac Man, and worked on learning to jump rope.
4-6 students have also played Hole in 1, worked on throwing/ catching by practicing with partners and playing a team game called 1 Bounce, and are currently using striking skills to play 4 Square and Tetherball.
Please make sure your children have a water container each day. We’ll hopefully get some cooler weather soon.
58th Space Coast Art Festival’s Student Art Show
Students are invited to participate in the 58th Space Coast Art Festival’s Student Art Show.
Each year the students of Brevard County have demonstrated to area residents and visitors their awesome talent. We expect this year’s Student Art Show will be one of the best and biggest ever!
The venue for this year’s show is the Avenues at Viera. The show runs from Saturday, October 14th, through Sunday, October 15th. Teachers/students will still need to bring and set up their displays on Saturday starting at 9:00 am. It might be beneficial to you to mat and shrink wrap your pieces to save the artwork in case of inclement weather, which is not required, just suggested. We will leave the artwork on display so more people can see it and then be picked up Sunday afternoon at 4:00. Please don’t pick it up any earlier. Awards will be given out Sunday at 3:00. Students will not be required to be with their work at the time of judging. This way we are hoping to get more students involved and let the public enjoy the artwork longer. Teachers, students, or parents will be required to sign in the artwork and sign it out at the end of the show.
We are looking forward to a fun day with Brevard’s best student artists again this year. If you have any question, suggestions, or problems please don’t hesitate to contact me.
