Picking Up The pieces

The renaissance was from the 1300's to the 1600's and started in Florence, Italy. Italy grew because of trade, becoming an ideal breeding ground for intellectual revolution. Since 60% of the population died, more citizens were able to get involved with political life. Because of this the medichi family became both political leaders and patrons.

Literature & Art In The Renaissance

Some of the most famous artists and their works include:

Leonardo Da Vinchi who was a paintor, sculptor scientist and inventor. Da Vinchi has 17 paintings that survived

Most famous for- The mona lisa and the vitruvian man

Michelangelo Buonarroti who was Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer Most famous for- portraying the human body and painting the sistine chaple

Some of the most famous writers of humanism in the renaissance include-

Dante wrote in the vernacular which provided most people access to his work which included- Dantes inferno

Machivelli enjoyed wrghting about the negative imperfect conduct of human beings and his most famous writing was-The prince

Petrach was the ''father'' of humanism some may call him a great writer and poet he wrote-Canzoniere

Erasumus he was the only christian humanist (christians and humanist didn't agree on most things) and belived all people can do good things- Enchiridion militis Christiani
