Hayes Weekly Update
February 26th-March 2nd
A Message from Mrs. Seybolt
Holy ice days, Batman! As much as I love a snow day at home, I know our students really need to be at school.
I am excited for the week ahead. Read Across America week is here! I love this week because it encourages students to read and also helps them understand that reading is fun! Please feel free to do as much or as little as you would like with the resources shared with you in your email. We will not be doing dress up days and will save those until the end of the school year during a spirit week. Ms. Schmitt and I will also be sharing some books during morning assembly, so assembly may last a few minutes longer than usual.
I would like to challenge everyone to use turn and talk during your lesson planning. Turn and talk is an excellent tool to help students process information you are teaching. In the lesson planning process turn and talk is considered a we do. Turn and talk should not last very long and is something that needs to be taught to your students. Make sure you tell students your expectations and practice before using in your lesson. Let me know how it goes in your classroom. I would love to see it in practice!
As always, if you need anything please let me know.
We are Cardinal RED,
Michelle Seybolt
