The Russian Revolution


WHY and HOW: Started in Petrograd, now known as St. Petersburg. The revolution started because the citizens wanted to overthrow the government.

Important People: Peter I, Alexander II, Lenin, Stalin, Marx, Nicholas II, Rasputin.

Important Events: The October Revolution (also called the Bolshevik Revolution) established the Soviet Union. The Russian Civil War broke out in the summer of that year and would last well into 1920.
