NAESP - Report to Parents: Tips on Gift-Giving and Receiving
The hype of the Holiday Season gets more and more grand and seems to be starting earlier and earlier each year! This is the time of year where our children may set their sights on that "one" wish-list gift - and the pressure we might feel (as parents) to make it happen! What is important is how we as families approach the season - and in helping our kids "understand" the gift of receiving and giving. In this month's Report to Parents, NAESP explores ways we can explore these themes in helping our children appreciate the season.
"With the major holidays approaching, parents face two challenges: first, how to find the perfect presents for their children—the gifts that will be loved for years, not just hours—and perhaps more importantly, how to make sure their children are kind and grateful recipients, no matter what they get. Here are some ideas to try:"

The Giving Tree - Butler Supports Families this Holiday Season
Holiday Giving Program… A great way to offer comfort and support to Butler families this holiday season.
Currently, The Butler Giving Tree is on "Full-Display" - decorated with tags for gifts near the main office. The Giving Tree will continue to have tags that display the names of holiday gifts that can be donated to specific local families in need this holiday season. We invite our Butler Families to choose a tag, if they wish or go directly to the following site to sign-up. All gifts should be delivered to the main office by December 19th to ensure a holiday delivery.

Notes from the Nurse
A few reminders:
1. If you haven't already done so, please return the below as soon as possible to avoid your child from missing any field trips. Also, please remember to keep a copy, you never know when you may need one or in case it gets misplaced:
- Kindergarten or entry physicals and dentals,
- 3rd grade dentals, and
- 6th grade physicals to the health room
3. If your child has an injury and requires a boot, ace wrap, sling, cast, crutches etc, please notify the health room. We will need written restrictions by an MD for gym class as well as recess. We do encourage our students to go outside for fresh air even when they are unable to have an active recess, unless otherwise written by the MD.
4. Please remember to dress your child for the weather and outdoor recess. Labeling your items is also a good idea as our lost and found has grown.
