How Can My Teachers Request Credit for Out of County Conferences and Workshops?
IMPORTANT - Assigning Credit in ProGOE
Did you know that marking a participant as a NO SHOW is not enough? While changing the registration status and grade is a key element to completing the participants on the ProGOE roster, there is a second step for those who received a NO SHOW or REQUESTED WITHDRAWL. When a participant does not complete the required follow up or does not attend the class, it is imperative to CHANGE the CREDIT HOURS in the far right hand column. To make this change you will want to make sure all participants who have received credit are locked, unlock those being adjusted. Then go to the CREDITS button and then type in 0.0 credits and click the update button. It is a simple but important step. If you do not update the credits for No Show and Withdrawn participants, they will still show as earning credit in the course. Remember to complete this step before you finalize your roster and store your copies. Please read pages 5 & 6 in the Assigning Inservice Credits to Participants guide for screen shots and additional information.

Best Practices for Planning and Implementing Professional Development
The state of Florida has recently revised the domains and standards for professional learning systems. Each one of our schools is an intricate part of the professional development system within Brevard Public Schools. Providing teachers with an opportunity for authentic professional development expereinces and the monitoring and evaluating of that learning is a key factor in showing the impact professional development is making on student achievement. Below you will find some basic guidelines for professional development in BPS.
- Must be at least 2 hours long (this can include a series of inservice on early release)
- Must have a ProGOE sign in sheet for all those in attendance
Must have learning objectives for participants based on the Professional Learning Catalog, and a Follow-up/Implementation product
Must evaluate their learning on the learning objective for each meeting
