The Week Ahead...
Monday, 9/19, 5PM- MCS Family Mental Health Fair
Midtown Elementary
This event features an interactive expo with hands-on activities for students and adults to support mental wellness sponsored by The Enrichment Center.
Come by anytime from 5-7 and get information from professionals at community agencies including the Mental Health Center, Military Child Coalition, The Caring House, Autism Network, National Children's Advocacy Center, and more. We will also have food trucks, door prizes, and a student art showcase!
Mental Health Matters: Connecting the Dots is brought to you by Madison City Schools and Madison City Councils of PTAs.

James Clemens Epod will host an Ice Cream Party for all JCHS and BJHS students interested in Best Buddies. See the picture below for the QR code and more information
Rocket City Learning Center will be hosting an ACT Prep. for the Oct test. The course is 12 hours Meets ONLINE.
Test date: Oct 22rd 2022
Class Meets on: 7-9PM (10/3, 10/5, 10/10, 10/12, 10/17, 10/19
Location: Online ( Note: No Class during Fall Break)
Fee: $240 till 9/23; Will increase to $300 after 9/23.

What is included in the 12 hours of group instruction, a workbook with 4 tests, an overview of all 4 sections, strategies for each section, tricks for time management, guided and timed practice in the class.

Seniors - There will be a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) presentation September 19th at 5PM in our auditorium. Filling out the FAFSA or signing an opt-out waiver is a graduation requirement. Opt-out forms will be available starting Oct. 1, 2022 when the FAFSA opens.

Senior Ads- Reserve your senior ad space in the yearbook to celebrate your graduate's achievements! Click HERE for examples and HERE to purchase. To reserve your spot and submit your words and pictures later via Google Form, simply pay for your ad, type "will add later" where the site says "body", and upload one placeholder image.
Sales will be closed on October 1 or when we run out of space, whichever comes first.

Social Studies Honor Society- Rho Kappa
Juniors and Seniors interested in joining need to turn in their applications by Sept. 20th to Mrs. O'Donnell. The application and list of requirements can be found on the school clubs webpage. See Mrs. O'Donnell in room D211 if you have more questions.
National Honor Society- Monday, 9/19, 1st half of Refuel, Harvard Room
New and Returning Members are invited to attend the first meeting of the 2022-2023 school year. We look forward to seeing you there. New member applications are online.
National English Honor Society-
Applications can be found on the JC website under Clubs or come by room A211 to pick one up. DUE no later than October 12th at 3:28pm

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT for JC Cross Country
Saturday, 9/17 at John Hunt Park in Huntsville
JC VARSITY Boys race Saturday at 8:40 am and JC Varsity girls race at 9:25 am in the CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION.
One of the top 10 Cross Country Meets in the nation is held this weekend. This is the Southern Showcase Meet featuring 158 School from 8 States (Alabama; Florida; Georgia; Illinois; Louisiana; Ohio; South Carolina; Tennessee). Both JAMES CLEMENS HS Girls and Boys team have qualified to compete in the CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION against 42 teams.
Both James Clemens HS teams are Nationally ranked.
