Staying Positive & Looking Ahead Into 2021...

Big picture

From The Principal's Desk...

Dear CMS Families:

Welcome back from vacation!

It's my sincere hope that everyone had a restful and relaxing vacation. There's no doubt in my mind that 2020 was taxing on all of us. With a start of a new year, I will continue to remain positive and optimistic that brighter days will be coming, and a return to normalcy will not be too far off. From a school standpoint, we are all ready and excited to continue educating all of our students. However, and with that being said, we still need your assistance to ensure that all of this takes place. Please remember, now as much as ever before, to complete the Pre-Screening Questionnaire every day. This will allow for Nurse Harrington to monitor all of our students properly. As a school, we will continue to follow all of our safety protocols to ensure our building is clean and safe. As I stated before, our goal is to hopefully get back to normal, but until we get there, we need to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff continues to be a top priority.

We will continue to work as hard as we can to provide the best learning opportunities for all of our students. Together, we can make this happen. Please continue to partner with your child's teachers and don't forget to reach out with any questions or supports needed. We are all here for you.

Mandatory Flu Shot Information - Deadline Extended: February 28, 2021

‘The MDPH Immunization Division had set the deadline of December 31, 2020 for students to receive a flu vaccination unless they have obtained a medical or religious exemption. The deadline has been extended through February 28, 2021. Schools and school districts have authority to implement vaccination requirements at the local level, and may set policies appropriate for their communities regarding the deadlines for submitting documentation of vaccination. Schools and school districts should make every effort to ensure that families are connected to school nurses for resources for facilitating access to vaccination, if unable to receive through their primary care provider. Schools and school districts should send a reminder out to parents of this requirement as soon as possible.’
