In the Know
An Internal Newsletter from the SISD Communications Dept.
Campus principals and central office staff participated in the “I Love U Guys” Foundation school safety and response training on Wednesday. Sherman ISD Transportation and Safety Director Brett Counce led the training which focused on educating school administrators on Standard Response Protocol and the Standard Reunification Method. Participants learned the history of the "I Love You Guys" program, and information on how campuses implement the school safety program and manage daily operational school-based events.
The “I Love U Guys” Foundation was started in 2006 by Ellen and John-Michael Keyes following a school shooting that took the life of their daughter, Emily. The Foundation is committed to school and community safety, and family reunification following a crisis. Over 25,000 schools, agencies, and organizations have implemented the program across the United States and Canada. As Sherman ISD continues to refine school safety and security, the "I Love You Guys" safety and response program will help guide the district's safety and security protocols.
As Sherman ISD works to enhance safety and security throughout the district, additional information will be provided to your campus about the "I Love You Guys" program. For more information about the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, please visit www.iloveuguys.org.
