Visible Light

Physics Period 4

Visible light is a form of electromagnetic radiation

The wavelength range is about 390 to 700nm

The velocity in the vacuum is 186,000mi/sec

An interesting fact for visible light is that animals can see parts of the spectrum that humans can't. Large number of insects can see ultraviolet (UV) light.

An interesting fact for visible light is that some people don't see the exact same color as others do. Some see red when other see orange.

Light waves, visible and invisible - Lucianne Walkowicz

Visible lights are used in cones in our eyes are receivers for these tiny visible light waves.

Visible light waves are used in everyday life.

Positive health impacts we can see color.

Positive health impacts helps us see everything.

Negative heath impacts not everyone has all the colors.

Negative health impacts some people don't have the lens. Or the thing that gives us colors.

Wave length have different symptoms. Effects depend on the duration and intensity and to some times upon the individual's natural reflex action to close the eye and exclude the incident light. It usually not long term.

White light is a mixture of many colors. The rays are always in the same direction. To hange the colors of light you can use filters. Some colors are absorbed other color. Primery colors are red, green, and blue. They have secondary colors too.
