Superintendent's Message
As we start the month of November, I want to take a moment to thank our entire school community for all of your support. As I visit our schools and attend various after school activities, it is so wonderful to witness the amazing learning that is taking place throughout the district. I continue to be filled with pride with how our staff and community continue to partner TOGETHER for our students. By us modeling for our kids, kindness, compassion and love, I guarantee the future is so bright for our LCS community.
Safety Audit and Grants
Our goal is and will continue to be to keep student and staff safety as a top priority. As part of the 2018 Bond and additional grants from the Michigan State Police, our school buildings have been outfitted with multiple safety features including secure vestibules at every school building, classroom and office door locking systems, hallway lockdown systems, and cameras both inside and outside the school buildings.
We are waiting on the results of the safety audit conducted in each of our school buildings. We will use the information provided within the report, along with feedback that we gather from our community, to inform our safety planning moving forward.
Strategic Planning
We are looking for stakeholders to join our Strategic Design Team to help our schools! Lincoln Consolidated Schools is developing a strategic plan, a roadmap to help our schools make the vision in our LCS Portrait of a Graduate come to life in our classrooms. It’s important that our strategic plan reflect the hopes and aspirations our community has for our young people, so we hope you will sign up to join our Strategic Design Team!
Will you join our Strategic Design Team? Please complete this interest form to let us know if you can help lead this exciting work. And, don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Centennial Celebration Committee
On October 31, 2024 will be the 100 Year Anniversary of the opening of Lincoln Consolidated Schools. Our community will be celebrating throughout the 2024-2025 school year and we'll need many volunteers to make it a spectacular year. If you are interested in being part of the planning committee, please fill out the Centennial Celebration Committee interest form. The committee will come together in November to start planning for this milestone year!
School Grants Community Input Session
On November 10 at 5:30 p.m., LCS will be hosting a Zoom meeting ( Zoom Link) to share information and collect community feedback needed for several grant opportunities. Please join us to help shape the future of Lincoln.
Michigan Parents’ Council
All Michigan parents of pre-K through 12th grade students are invited to add their voice to the conversation around what is working well and what future investments may be needed in their schools by completing the MI Parent Survey. The survey takes approximately six minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish and Arabic.
Communicating When a Crisis Happens
The Lincoln District Crisis team meets monthly throughout the school year with the main purpose of supporting student safety. The team works hard to make sure we’re prepared in case of a crisis. We wanted to remind our community of the steps involved when a crisis occurs.
First and foremost is ensuring the safety of students and staff. You entrust your child to us, and we take this responsibility seriously. In the age of cell phones and social media, we will never be able to beat the messages you receive from your student. Our staff needs to focus on the situation, and we need you to trust that when the crisis is over, we will communicate what we can to our community. Just know that we are working quickly and will communicate as we can, either during or after the process.
Staffing
Please help us get the word out regarding our open positions. Along with the critical shortages in several areas, we are in desperate need of Substitute Teachers and Parapros. We are experiencing shortages and we need help. Please share with your networks of friends, neighbors and family to get the word out to willing individuals.
