Dear Buff Family-
Our newsletter focuses again on upcoming dates and reminders as the school year draws to an end. Last week we were able to celebrate our Seniors through Decision Day. This week we get to celebrate all grade levels through our Virtual Honors Recognition. It’s amazing to see what our kids have done as well as recognize and applaud their future plans! We hope that you will watch our Virtual Honors throughout the week and celebrate with all of our Buffs!
We have asked seniors to submit any acceptance letters and/or scholarship awards to us throughout the year. The last day for seniors to submit these is May 22, 2020. Please be sure your senior has given this info to your child’s counselor. We also welcome pictures of our seniors with their acceptance letters to post on Twitter.
As the end of the school year is on the horizon, please encourage your children to keep working hard. It is critical that they are working with and communicating with their teachers to complete assignments and recovery as needed. Please don’t hesitate to ask for help.
We have also included some handouts for Mental Health Month. Please have students reach out if they need any assistance.
Please stay healthy and safe. We look forward to seeing our Buffs!
Clemens Counselors
Since 1949, Mental Health America and affiliates across the country have led the observance of May is Mental Health Month by reaching millions of people through the media, local events and screenings.
While 1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime, everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health. In 2020, the theme of Tools 2 Thrive will provide practical tools that everyone can use to improve their mental health and increase resiliency regardless of the situations they are dealing with. These tools – even those that may need to be adapted for the short term because of COVID-19 and social distancing – will be more useful than ever.
