THINGS TO KNOW!!
2. Be on the look out for an email about locker decorations from your team mom and Kristi Rioux or Shawneen Williams.
3. T-shirts should be done and hopefully I will picked-up on Monday. Our goal is to have all the girls in t-shirts by Tuesday's match. NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO HELP SORT SHIRTS! Please email Kristi if you can help. If you ordered a Dad Crew shirt or LTVB mom shirt please pick up and pay on Tuesday.
4. I put another call in for equipment so if you ordered anything on the online portal, it should be in soon.
5. School starts this week! Each girl will be given their locker to store all valuables. The locker room will be opened by 8:00 am and will be closed and locked during the day! This is something that is new from before. We will open the locker room during the athletic period to let the girls change.
6. Currently, we are accepting 2 cases of water from each girl! This water is used for every box lunch meal the girls are given! They will also be able to take the water to tournaments. Please bring your cases of water to the coaches office.
7. Be on the look out for a sign up for hospitality room home meals sign ups from Annie Havens.
8. All the girls are connected to a GroupMe app. Please make sure all the girls are communicating through the GROUP ME APP! Please send all pictures and I will use them for next week's newsletter!
9. Any extra team bonding outside of the norm is encouraged! We believe the more time the girls spend together, the better our overall team chemistry!
10. Concession duty assignments will be sent out this week.
11. Thank you to Coach Stone for helping run practice while the varsity coaches are at our tournaments.
12. CC4C Run- Sept 30th this is a fun opportunity for the girls to get together and bond as a program. This is not a mandatory event, but should be fun for all participants. Please save the date and look for an email with details from Angie wheeler.

Lake Hills Church Building B 11431 FM 2244, Austin, TX 78738

14. This is your last week to purchase from Fan cloth catalog. All products ordered will share a percentage with our booster club. Remember the more money raised the less money needed to be paid out of your pocket.
15. On Monday, August 20th we will have the girls help volunteer to coach an LTYA clinic from 6:00-7:30 pm. This is not mandatory but an opportunity to work with the young future LTVB players.
Pearland Tournament
Message from Chuck Licata KMAC Sports
Other VYPE Nation teams:
Lake Travis (finished 7th): Fourth-year head coach Brandace Boren’s squad came in riding some momentum, handling two Class 5A powers (Rouse and Dripping Springs) in a dual match before the Pearland tournament. The Lady Cavaliers came out flat in an opening loss to Clear Brook but immediately rebounded by beating St. John’s, then state-ranked George Ranch, to make the Gold Bracket on Friday.
The Lady Cavs then did some “blue-collar” work, sweeping San Antonio Reagan in two close matches, then digging deep to grind out out a three-set victory over Smithson Valley. In that match, LT lost the first set (25-22) and trailed 16-11 in Set 2. During a time out, Boren told her squad: “This is the time when we show what type of team we have and what we’re made of.” The Lady Cavs then tied the match at 16-all; they’d finish the match on an amazing 14-2 overall run to take the set, 25-18. They led Set 3 24-19 before holding on for a 25-22 victory.
Saturday’s Gold Bracket play saw Boren’s crew fight hard but lose to eventual tournament-finalist Flower Mound, 25-23 and 25-17, continuing to show the grit and determination they had all tournament. The Lady Cavs then fell to The Woodlands to cap off a 4-3 run at Pearland.
Senior outsides Maddy Williams and Kristen Kleymeyer were named All-Tournament; senior Libero Kelsey Cohen was outstanding on defense; sophomore outside Jamison Wheeler stepped up big for her teammates at times; senior middle Cassidy Ehrie displayed great hitting and blocking skills; and Boren has some talent with a handful of setters, including junior Abi Watts, and sophomore Talor Rioux.
The Lady Cavs play at Austin area top-seed Westwood Monday before hosting San Antonio power Churchill on Tuesday; both matches will be broadcast live on K-MAC Sports/Vype Media at www.kmacsports.com.
