Speech Space
About Me
I am orginally from the Cleveland, Ohio area. My undergraduate degree in speech-language pathology/audiology is from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. My graduate studies in speech/language pathology were completed in 1989 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Upon graduation I worked in the public schools for a short while. Most of my career was spent working at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. During those 11 years, I worked with all populations with an emphasis on pediatrics. In August of 2001 I started working at Whitaker Elementary School in Winston-Salem, NC.
The majority of my caseload are children in kindergarten and first grade. I am available at school from 7:30 to 3:15 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and on Thursday from 7:30 am to 11:00 am. I can be reached at Reynolds High School on Thursday afternoons.
Home Work
Homework is assigned based on the student's individual goals. If homework is assigned, please practice with your child, sign the section in the homework folder and return the folder the next time that your child has therapy. Students are rewarded for practicing at home with their parents. Each time they practice, they will receive a sticker. Once they have the designated number of stickers, they are eligible to visit the prize box!
