Students will have the chance to see their bookmark designs featured at their local library and throughout Los Angeles County. Completed entry forms can be dropped off at individual library locations, sent in by mail, or submitted digitally via a link on the Library’s website. The deadline for entry is October 29, 2022. The winning bookmarks from each library will be shared with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, who will select winners that reside in their District from each category. Winners selected by the Board of Supervisors will be recognized by the Board in the spring of 2023.
REMINDERS
TRAFFIC REMINDERS
There has been great improvement seen in the number of cars making u-turns during high traffic time and we appreciate it! We still have a few more areas that we need to work on to help traffic flow and ensure safety for our students and their families.
When you are waiting in Monte Lane, please be courteous to our neighbors by not blocking their driveways.
If you see space in Monty Lane, please do not cut in front of other cars waiting.
Do not park by the red curb on Rosemont Ave. by the Crescenta Commons area. It slows down the traffic on Orange Ave. turning onto Rosemont Ave.
Follow Monte Vista @montevistagusd (Instagram) and @Monte Vista Elementary - GUSD (Facebook) to meet our staff and see all of the amazing things that are happening at our school! Links can also be found at the bottom of this newsletter.
You are invited to a talk on Mindfulness given by speaker, therapist, writer, and teacher Dr. Christopher Willard on Monday, September 19th at 6pm at CVHS Macdonald Auditorium. Come listen to the message of mindfulness and hope for parents. More info here.
CV MOUNTAIN BIKING TEAM
The CV High School Mountain Bike Team invites 6th graders to start riding and racing with them. See flier for details.
